Big groups usually mean one crowded house. This is two.
Ten bedrooms across two buildings, ninety feet apart, sleeping twenty. Everyone is together when it matters and separate when it doesn't — which is the difference between a group holiday people enjoy and one they endure.
Both kitchens are full kitchens. Both cabins have their own hot tub, sauna, fire pit, grill, table for ten — and their own games and theatre room, with a pool table, arcade, hundred-inch screen, karaoke and poker in each. Grandparents can go to bed at nine on one side of the lawn while the karaoke is still going on the other, and neither party knows about the other.
Every bedroom is individually keyed and hand-painted for its own name, which matters more than people expect when four families share a booking.

Who takes the whole hill.
Three generations
The most common booking is a family of families — grandparents, their children, and their children's children — for Thanksgiving, a seventieth birthday, or the one week a year everyone can get off. Two cabins solve the problem that one big house never does: the early risers and the late sleepers are under different roofs. The play set is on the lawn between them, in sight of both kitchens.
Friends who have known each other a long time
Ten couples, or a mixed group of twenty, for a long weekend that is mostly about the table and the fire. Both cabins have a games and theatre room, so the pool tournament and the film run at the same time and nobody is asked to keep it down.
Teams and retreats
Companies of fifteen to twenty-five and retreat leaders with a cohort. The Long Room seats twenty at one table for the working part of the day, and the rest of the property does the part that a hotel meeting room never can. Those have their own page and so do retreats.
How the bedrooms divide
Aubade's five are Hawksbill, The Orchard, Meadow, Kiln and Lantern. Nocturne's five are Observatory, Cavern, Ember, Fern and Nightjar. Every one is hand-painted for its name, sleeps two, and locks. Families tend to take a cabin each; friend groups tend to sort by who is still up at midnight. Either way, nobody is on a sofa.
Some large cabins near Shenandoah sleep twenty by counting bunk rooms and pull-outs. Here it is ten real bedrooms, and the number is the number.
Questions people ask
Is this one house or two?
Two. Aubade and Nocturne are separate cabins about ninety feet apart on the same twenty-five acres. Each has five bedrooms, its own kitchen, hot tub, sauna, fire pit and games room. Booked together they sleep twenty.
Can we rent just one cabin?
Yes. Each cabin books on its own and sleeps ten. When you take one, the other may be occupied by another group, though the decks face opposite ways and the lawn between is wide.
Is there one table that seats all twenty?
Yes. Aubade's Long Room seats twenty at a single table. Beyond that there are two dining tables indoors and two outdoors, each for ten, so meals can be one sitting or two.
How many bathrooms are there?
Nine across the two cabins — five at Aubade and four at Nocturne. Ten bedrooms sharing nine bathrooms means nobody is queuing for a shower at eight in the morning.
Will there be other guests on the property?
Not when you book both cabins. The whole twenty-five acres is yours, with a single track in and no other roofline in sight.
What is the minimum stay?
Two nights, three on holiday weekends. Whole-property bookings for a week or longer are worth a conversation first.
Do the bedrooms have their own keys?
Yes. Every one of the ten bedrooms is individually keyed, which matters when four families share a booking.
