The land
Four hundred feet above the town, and five miles from it.
A 360 that is actually 360.
Twenty-five acres at 1,272 feet, with mown grass running out to woodland on every side and a single track in. We bought the surrounding land specifically so that nobody could build on it. There is no neighbouring house, no road noise and nothing in the sightline — which is why the view works in every direction rather than one good one.
The Blue Ridge wraps you from north-east right round to due south. Massanutten closes the west. The town is a light in the distance, not a thing you look at.
Outside, and all of it private.
Because there is nobody else here, nothing outdoors is shared or scheduled. Each cabin has its own hot tub, its own cedar barrel sauna, its own fire pit seating eight, its own grill and its own table for ten.
Between them: a bocce court, a play set for the children, and lawn that runs to the treeline before the woodland starts.
