Sleeping arrangements

Ten bedrooms, twelve beds, and nobody on a sofa.

Hespera Reach is two private five-bedroom cabins near Luray, Virginia, fifteen minutes from Shenandoah National Park and Luray Caverns: ten bedrooms, twelve beds and seven bathrooms, sleeping twenty.

How groups usually divide it.

Families

One cabin per branch of the family is the usual answer. The grandparents and the early risers take one; the cousins and the late nights take the other. The play set and bocce court are on the lawn between them, in sight of both kitchens.

Companies

Ten keyed bedrooms means up to ten people get a room of their own, and nobody shares who doesn't want to. The two rooms with two full beds suit colleagues who are happy to share.

Friends

Couples take the king rooms. Friends travelling alone take the two-full rooms. The games rooms are downstairs, so the night owls have somewhere to go.

Every bedroom is painted by hand for its own name. Ask us about any room and we'll tell you exactly what's in it.

Questions people ask

How many beds are there?

Twelve. In each cabin, four bedrooms have a king bed and one has two full beds — eight kings and four fulls across the property.

How many bathrooms are there?

Seven — four at Aubade and three at Nocturne.

Does anyone sleep on a sofa or bunk?

No. Twenty guests sleep in ten bedrooms. We don't count sofas, bunks or pull-outs.

Do the bedrooms lock?

Yes. All ten bedrooms are individually keyed, which matters when several families or colleagues share a booking.

Can we book just one cabin?

Yes. Each cabin sleeps ten across five bedrooms and books on its own.
